After studying at Le Cordón Bleu Paris and a 5-year stint in France, chef Jose González opened his proposal for Costa Rican cuisine in Barrio Escalante from January 2014.
It starts as a tasting menu restaurant and today operates with daily menu, a la carte menu and special tasting events.
The name Al Mercat comes from the Concherias of the Costa Rican author Aquileo J. Echeverria "Al Mercado", where the Costa Rican lifestyle of going to and consuming the market or currently Farmer fairs is exemplified.
