Todd Erickson is a professional horticulturist, fine artist, and craftsman with an expertise in design planning and implementation of sustainable landscaping projects on the North East Coast. He lives and works on Fire Island, NY.
Erickson has worked with many professionals and institutions such as the American Museum of Natural History. He received mentorship from Jackie Brookner, whom he worked with on many interdisciplinary practices. His education and professional career focus on natural philosophies that align ecology and community. His commitment and dedication is to sustainable art and nature.
Erickson has designed and maintained over twenty-five gardens on Fire Island. Currently he owns a successful business, a retail garden center, Coastal Roots FI. He also works on public projects in his community focusing on coastal environments harvesting and planting native and pollinator plant species.
At Coastal Roots FI Erickson chooses to work with sustainable materials that leave little to no footprint on the planet. He is committed to helping keep a green future intact and thriving. In his community of Cherry Grove and the greater Fire Island he is a consultant on several boards, to private homeowners, along with private firms.
Erickson?s fine art background and expertise in materials enable him to apply his knowledge in practice in a sustainable eco friendly manner and create environmental projects that both conserve and beautify.
