The concept of Tabu was created out of a need to have a true sports'bar that caters to the the diverse and dynamic crowd that makes up the' Gayborhood as part of Washington Square West. Tabu Lounge and Sports'Bar was envisioned to be not just another business on 12th Street, but'a part of the community that gives back in ways that'others only think about. In December 2012 (after just two and a half years of being open), we held our 200th'fundraiser in support of local non-profit organizations. We also provide significant support and assistance to several of the largest non-profit' organizations in the community such as Mazzoni Health Center, William Way Community Center, Philadelphia Gay Black Pride, and Equality Now!
